If you have time and are willing to be on car, foot, or bike - I would appreciate it if you would attempt to patrol the Falls Church area this evening. The more people that are on foot the better, but the more eyes that are out there the better. Several of Rocky's sightings have been between 4pm and 8pm so if we have people monitoring that area in that time, I think we have a chance of spotting him again. You would want to keep my cell handy of course if you do. I will be on foot myself in the area. You would want to stay near 66 as I really have a hunch he is trying to do the same. Basically, the list of roads below is a guide of the main roads between the EFC and WFC metro that are near 66. Try and stay on these roads as long as the roads is within 3-4 blocks of route 66. Make sure you go into neighborhoods and check in lawns, woods, or backyards where possible. Use and print the sightings map at the street level to make it easy.
Roads To Patrol (remember - the areas within a few blocks to 66 only and the adjacent neighborhoods, not the entire street):
Sycamore St.
Washington Blvd
Lee Highway
Underwood St
Westmoreland
Williamsburg
Meridian
Great Falls
Highland
Leesburg Pike
Good stuff to have with you:
My cell number: 703-593-1040 and a cell phone. :)
A Leash (I have a couple extras)
Dog Treats or Cheese or Deli Meat
Posters and Plastic Sleeves (and either tape or a staple gun)
Flashlight
Warm Clothing
Hope
Let's bring my baby home tonight.

We have just returned home from looking for Rocky..I have a found a few hiding spots that would shelter him from the weather...The first is an up rooted tree in Tuckahoe Park...it has fallen on its side and created a nice hole that would shelter him..plus there is a little stream that would provide water. The second is behind Tuckahoe elementary school..there are many creations from the students that would also provide shelter in the evening. I hope some of these help!!! We are saying a special prayer!!
ReplyDeleteDrove around the areas outlined (except Highland & Leesburg Pike) for about 2 hours tonight. Noticed that there are many homes under renovation or construction in the area and thought that he may be taking shelter in those places as well.
