Please call or text me at 703-593-1040 if you will attend or show up between the scheduled time. If you will be late, please let me know.
Saturday noon - 4pm: Searching in Falls Church Area - meeting location TBD. I will send an update on this tomorrow.
I haven't received any new sightings based on the last couple days activities, which has me disappointed by not disheartened. He still is out there somewhere. And it is possible he moved out of the area, but as all breed experts have explained, he likely will circle back and return at some point. Hopefully soon since the weather has turned for the better.
Please continue to post suggestions and ideas. I read them all and just don't have time to respond to all. But just know that every option is under consideration. And thanks to all who have sent along there support for Rocky and me. It is much appreciated and it is what keeps me strong and hopeful that this will have a happy ending.

Was out on errands this afternoon. Stopped at the PETCO in Fairfax on 50 across from Paul VI and gave them a flyer that the girl working there put up on their community board. I also put one up at the new Fairfax Robek's just 2 blocks down from the PETCO.
ReplyDeleteI'll be flyering tomorrow w/ Natalia and continue to spread the word to everyone. I'll also be out Saturday at your meeting point. The breed experts explaination is encouraging.
ReplyDeleteSince Rocky likes the Black and Gold:
Here we go Rocky, Here we go!
As a person who has lost a dog in the past, I know what you are going through. I wish I could be down there to give you a hand. Keep the faith, I don't know how Rocky couldn't come home considering how much you love him and the fact that you haven't given up hope is quite admirable. Keep your chin up, I'm sure he'll be home soon.
ReplyDeleteI will be out with the Saturday search effort from 12-2 (at least). Can't wait to get Mr. Rocky home where he belongs! :)
ReplyDeleteI sent the flyer to all the pet sitters in Falls Church, all the schools in Falls Church (and some have agreed to hang the flyer in their schools!), and the Arlington Civic associations.
ReplyDeleteExtra special thanks to Nancy for developing the list (as always!). Still to do are the Falls Church yahoo and google groups and the businesses. If you are able to help research, please let us know!
Thanks!
Daphne
We just got back from our walk (started at 830-9:45PM. We started from the intersection of Williamsburg and Westmoreland, and we walked up Williamsburg and around the CVS shopping center.
ReplyDeleteWe then walked down Sycamore and then hung a right on Little Falls and then finally a right on Van Buren.
No luck....we will continue to look....and hopefully bring Rocky home.

If there are enough people that can devote some time on Saturday, I'd like to get a small handful of volunteers to do "intersection alerts" which would be people to hold up large Lost Dog posters -- basically like kids at a car wash fundraiser.
ReplyDeleteIt would require putting the posters together Friday evening or Saturday morning -- not an easy task with this little time. But if there are any outgoing types interested in that, contact me as soon as you can. This is a method of spreading the word that has worked pretty well in other places, so I think Rocky deserves this kind of promotion.
I don't want to take away from volunteers for the searching effort, but hopefully there are enough folks for Saturday to man both efforts.

We parked by the Hospital on George Mason at 1:30, and headed toward 19th Street. We covered some bus stop covered benches, 19th Street, 19th Road, 20th Street, Emerson in between weaving in and around the roads I just mentioned, and then back to George Mason where my car was parked. I hit every light post I could see - and went through 100 thumb tacks (4 to a flyer) until I ran out. We also passed 3 individual flyer's to 2 walk-er-by-ers, and even a gentleman who pulled over driving his car! He had a mini Schnauzer poking its head out from the back seat who seemed genuinely concerned and interested in keeping his eye out.
ReplyDeleteI took a flyer to Petco in Bailey's Crossroads afterwards but I noticed that there had already been one placed on the board, so I then headed towards St. Anthony's Catholic Church - (I already had to drop my donation in to St. Anthony for answering my prayers with Mocha), and being the finder of lost-things, I dropped a Rocky flyer in with my donation envelope, and placed one on the board in the main lobby.
Hopefully we helped in some small way, and I plan on going back out hopefully again tomorrow if not on Tuesday.
Is there an organized effort happening tomorrow, and if so, where?
We're here to help in every way.
Warm Regards,
Maeve
